Microsoft End of Life Products for 2020

Posted on 21st August 2019

Something which all businesses need to be aware of are the end of life dates for Microsoft products.

If you aren't keeping up to date across all applications, and including the operating systems they run on, then you risk significant impact on your business.

Unsupported products are no longer patched with security updates, and thus leave yourself open for any newly discovered flaws which are being discovered on a daily basis, many of which are widely reported by the media.

Just today, whilst I write this blog, another flaw has surfaced in the popular Microsoft application, Notepad

If you wish to obtain the national Cyber Essentials accreditation, then running unsupported software with immediately fail you.

Below is a list of products which, if you are still running - need to be upgraded by their End of Support Date.

If you are still running any of these operating systems, or applications, then it's very important that you seek to upgrade them immediately.

For those of you still running Windows 7, Microsoft have a great way to upgrade to Windows 10 through their Microsoft 365 E3 Plan, which provides a Windows 10 license alongside a number of other software packages. Exchange email, SharePoint, OneDrive document storage, Microsoft Teams for collaboration, security and centralised management all under one roof.

Of course, if you need any help whatsoever in upgrading then give us a call and we can talk through some options.
